Radnor Township School District (RTSD) is currently accepting applications from dynamic candidates interested in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and leading the District’s K-12 School Counseling program. This is a teacher on special assignment position that is available immediately.

Title:                   K-12 Coordinator of Student Wellness and Counseling Services

 

 

Qualifications:           Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or higher preferred

                                  Valid and active PA certificate in School Counseling/Guidance

                                  A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a School Counselor

                                  Leadership experience in School Counseling preferred

                                  Excellent communication and organizational skills

                                  Experience as a member of a Student Assistance Program

                                  Experience with college and career technologies such as Naviance

                                  Knowledge of local, state and national College/University admissions

                                    practices

                                  Knowledge of the NCAA Clearinghouse process

                                  Knowledge of CTE standards and 339 Plan requirements

                                  Experience overseeing and/or administering standardized tests (Ex: ACTs,               

                                   SATs, Keystones, PSSAs, AP Exams, etc.)

 

 

Reports to:       Directors of Teaching and Learning and Director of Special Education

 

 

Job Goal:       To provide leadership and support in developing, maintaining and coordinating

                         counseling and wellness services consistent with the philosophy of the District.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

 

  1. To provide leadership in the initiation, development and evaluation of counseling services and procedures for the Radnor Township School District. 
  2. To provide scheduling, promotion and organizational support for evening School Counseling programs K-12. 
  3. To develop strategic partnerships with area businesses, home and school, and other community agencies to coordinate opportunities for work programs/internships. 
  4. To monitor and support career activities at all levels to ensure District compliance with requirements of the Career Readiness Index, 339 Plan and other state and local mandates. 
  5. To provide oversight and guidance for Student Assistance Program (SAP) teams in each building. 
  6. To participate in the K-12 curriculum development and revision process to assure that social and emotional learning is appropriately integrated into curriculum and instructional practices. 
  7. To identify professional development and training needs for school counselors and clerical staff. 
  8. To coordinate, plan and direct the implementation of staff development programs in the area of school counseling.
  9. To provide support and guidance for crisis and risk assessments, re-entry plans, and student attendance improvement plans (SAIPs). 
  10. To serve as a resource for school counselors regarding Naviance and other college and career technologies. 
  11. To work with school counselors and administrators in matters related to student health, placement, achievement and attendance. 
  12. To foster and maintain strong relationships between RTSD’s school counseling offices and college and university admissions offices. 
  13. To stay abreast of current trends in school counseling. 
  14. To serve on committees for school and district meetings as directed. 
  15. To lead/present at meetings and informational sessions related to student wellness and counseling services. 
  16. To gather data and information as directed by the Directors of Teaching and Learning and/or Director of Special Education. 
  17. To perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Directors of Teaching and Learning and/or Director of Special Education.
