The following full-time position may be available immediately:
HVAC Mechanic
District-wide
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and technical certifications: electrical, plumbing or HVAC desired
- General knowledge of all building trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems/Digital Temperature Control Systems
- Good working knowledge of power and hand tools
- Available to work additional hours and weekends upon request, emergency on call availability
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Other duties, as assigned
Performance Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform various repairs to buildings and grounds
- Work in all environmental conditions including cold and hot climates
- Regular lifting and moving of 100 pounds and pulling of 100 pounds
- Must be able to work on ladders and scaffolding
- Maintain a neat orderly workspace
- Works safely and insure a safe work environment for others
- Effect energy conservation by maintaining all equipment in optimal performance mode and use all machinery in an energy efficient manner
- Assure comfortable room temperature control for students and staff in all District buildings
- Effect energy saving temperature control in all District buildings by performing preventative maintenance on designated equipment and troubleshooting
- Assure proper ventilation of all District buildings
- Assure that kitchen equipment is ready for use and performing as required in all District buildings
- Assist the Operations Department in maintaining job productivity
- Assure a snow and ice free access to all District Buildings
- Support other Operations functions by assuming all other duties as directed
Hourly Rate: As per Collective Bargaining Agreement
Deadline: March 24, 2023
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of PDE required training (on-line training courses)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.
